Headset
Looking for a new headset ... any recommendations? I'm looking for something that doesn't totally block out all the sound so I can still hear the TV in the background, but most are geared for blocking everything out.
I just bought the Plantronics GameCom 333 but it's a skull crusher, so gonna return them to Amazon.
Not looking for ear buds, which is what the Moray is. The Piranha sets seems seem to be open ear, but I see a lot of comfort issues when reading the reviews. I'm pretty much ready to settle on cans that block out some noise and figure I may have to pay for guaranteed comfort and quality.
I read a lot of good reviews on the Sennheiser 350s, but it'll cost $105 (refurbished) or $160 (new). At least I know they'd be good coming from Sennheiser.
Yikes, yeah, pricey, but could work well. Seinheiser is a great brand. I think the trend these days is blocking out noise -- I haven't seen any open-air earphones in a long time. FWIW, I did try some of those surround sound headphones that claims it offers 5.1, and maybe it was just the headphones I got but it was pretty lame. It didn't work very well at all and when it did I couldn't tell the difference in directions aside from standard left to right.
It's why I stick to standard 5.1 speakers -- I like my surround sound!
After Lia praised her Sennheiser 166s, I ordered the Sennheiser PC 350s.
Nice. Those look super comfy!

sennheiser FTW!!!!
i hope u like em killy!! :D
I have a pair of Senns, they are pretty damn sweet.
Actually, it was the Plantronics GameCom 377s that I bought ... got the number wrong. They were so tight on my melon Friday night that I felt like I still had them on all day Saturday. They were decent except for the vise-like fit. And shame on BB selling them for $49.99 when you can get them on Amazon for $30.
Any suggestiong for a headset for a lady? I have a smaller sized head than a man as well as smallish sized ears. Headsets either slip from their precarious perch on my head, crush my skull like an ant, or cover half the side of my face.

Try one of the Razer Moray series? Passive isolation so it's not actively trying to block out noise.
I know I heard once of a earmuff-style headset that was open to let sound through, but darned if I can remember the name of it. I think a friend of mine might have a pair -- I'll see if I can ping him.
