Hi everyone,

I have been having a blast leveling my priest.  My mainspec is Shadow and off spec is Holy.  However the world of "dots" is new to me.  Any of you priests have a recommendation on any add-ons for timing dots and other priest-y abilities?

From what I have seen there are quite a few out there.  Any suggestions would be great :)

I am currently using http://wow.curse.com/downloads/wow-addons/details/fortexorcist.aspx

I orignally got it for my warlock, but it works just as well for my hunter. It can take a little bit to set up, but now that I havent it, I couldn't imagine using anything else to moniter my dots.

I'd recommend Forte as well. If you want something a little lighter you can go with NeedToKnow as well.

I couldn't live without Power Auras.

It's not as automatic but you can customize it for every single class.  Takes a bit of set up but man it's super powerful and you can control all sorts of stuff.

Relshar (Gnome Mage)
Delacyla (NE Druid)
Telonic (Draenei Death Knight)
Vendryi (Draenei Shaman)
(and Mynis, Laedira, Seldak, Relourne, Rashyn, and Neenah...)

Forte is a little easier to setup, power auras is amazing when setup right.

I use button timers on all my chars. It keeps track of dots and other debuffs and also keeps track of cool downs. I know there is a you tube video shown set up which is pretty straight forward IMO. If you are going to get advice on a dot timer trust the lock ;)

Hmm...I think I may be in the minority here when I say that I just use the old fashioned standard ui...man I feel that I am missing out!

i dont use addons much (i manually select ppl from blizzard raid frames then heal :P ) but when i started trying out boomkin on my druid i needed something as well to help me keep track of my dots on my target.. ceci suggested forte and i must say i got more than what i expected. easy set up, its user friendly and covers all the classes. i like that it also announces certain cds used on other people or yourself so im sure u will find a use for it on your mage too.

You should try out disc and some point.  I enjoy it more than holy on my priest.  Really powerful shields and pain supression can be fun.
